(1) And all other matters incidental and conducive to the well being, upkeep and maintenance of the said Cemeteries. Provided always that no rules relating to the said Cemeteries shall have any force or effect if they are contrary to any laws, rules or regulations for the time being in force in the Colony and until such rules shall have been first submitted to His Excellency the Governor for approval and his consent thereto in writing has been obtained.
RULE XIII.
Terraces shall be laid out in the saine manner as in the Colonial Cemetery with a site reserved for a mortuary, servants quarters, latrines or any other buildings or erections as may be deemed necessary by the Board for the administration of the said Cemeteries.
RULE XIV.
The size and dimension of each grave space shall be 8 feet by 4 feet. All grave spaces other than those areas allotted to subscribers shall be used for the burial of coffins only, not of urns.
RULE XV.
Fees chargeable for grave spaces including the charge for head stones and cost of retaining wall will be as follows; namely:-

Suitable receptacles shall be provided for cracker firing &c. Every person responsible for a grave space and all persons coming to the Cemeteries for the purpose of worship or otherwsie shall be required to keep the Rules of the said Cemeteries.
RULE XXI.
Damage to property, trees &c. shall be made good by the person causing such damage.
RULE XXII.
The existing tombs belonging to the Nam Hoi and Tung Kun Districts within the Aberdeen area shall be left undisturbed.
RULE XXIII.
The Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer, together with such other mem- bers of the Board as may be appointed by the Board at its annual meeting. shall constitute a Committee of Inspection of the Cemeteries for the ensuing
year.

No more than 4 grave spaces may be allotted for the burial of one coffin. Other charges for digging &c. shall be fixed from time to time by the Board and paid accordingly by the person to whom the grave spaces are allotted
RULE XVI.
No person except a permanent resident of the Colony of Hong Kong or of the New Territories and his wife and his children, shall be permitted to be buried in the said Cemeteries. Any person who has resided continuously in the said Colony of Hong Kong or in the New Territories for a period of 8 years or more shall be deemed to be a permanent resident. Provided always that evidence of such residence shall be produced to and to the satisfaction of the Secretary.
RULE XVII.
No person may apply for a grave space except for immediate burial and unless he shall have produced to the Secretary à burial permit from the Sanitary Board.
RULE XVIII.
Every subscriber to the said Cemeteries shall be required to erect, at his own expense, substantial retaining walls (where necessary) to support and generally to lay out, the grave site allotted to him.
RULE XIX.
A Register of all areas allotted for burial shall be kept by the Secretary to the Board and Certificates of allotment shall be signed by the Secretary and Treasurer. The Secretary shall also keep a Register of all graves from which the remains have been exhumed.
RULE XXIV.
No tomb-stones, ornamental or other erections or structures higher than 6 feet shall be erected on any grave space or any part thereof or on land adjacent thereto without the consent in writing of the Board being first had and obtained. In the event of any tomb-stone or other erections or structures being erected on a grave site higher than 6 feet without permission of the Board, the Board shall give notice to the person responsible therefor requiring him to lower such height to 6 feet. Provided always that the Board shall have power to allow or permit such tomb-stone erection or structure to remain undisturbed under such terms and conditions as the Board shall think fit. Provided further that should the person responsible for the same fail to comply with the notice of the Board requiring him to lower the height of any structure belonging to him the Board may cause such structure to be removed or lowered at the cost and expense of the person responsible therefor who shall pay such cost and expense incurred by the Board. Such cost and expense shall be recoverable from the person responsible there for as damages.
RULE XXV.
All persons responsible for a grave shall undertake to pay any fine that may be imposed by the Board under Rule XII. (f).
RULE XXVI.
When the remains in a grave have been exhumed and reburied, in urn, in the same grave that grave shall be deemed to be an urning ground. The person responsible for the same may with the permission of the Secretary bring urns containing the remains of his relatives from other Cemeteries in the Colony to be buried in the said grave provided that no more than 8 urns shall be buried in the same grave.
RULE XXVII.
No person entitled to a grave shall be permitted to assign or transfer his right of burial in a grave to another person, for valuable consideration or otherwise except by transmission at law to his personal representatives. A fee of $2 shall be charged for the registration of Probate or Letters of Administration.

RULE XXVIII.
A grave after exhumation, if it is not used as an urning ground by the person responsible therefor and remains vacant for a period of 3 years after exhuma- tion shall revert to the Board and may be reallotted by the Board as it shall think fit.
RULE XXIX.
In the event of any difference or dissension arising amongst the Members of the Board in respect of any matter connected with the proper administra- tion of the Trust Fund such matter shall be referred to His Excellency the Governor whose decision shall be final and binding on all parties.
These rules shall come into force on the first day of February, 1933.
